The Paris Metro

The Paris Metro

The metro is the fastest and most practical way to cover longer distances inside Paris. It has 14 lines and runs from around 5:30 am until 1:15 am (later on weekends and public holidays). Paper tickets have been largely phased out. Most visitors now use a Navigo Easy card or buy tickets directly on their phone. The Navigo Easy card (€2) is the most practical option for most tourists. You can load single tickets or day passes onto it. Children aged 4–9 travel at a reduced rate (€1.30 on metro/RER tickets).
